The Urnfields are Maia Kirby and Patrick Lenover, an independent synth-songwriter duo crafting dark cinematic electronic music from Brantford, Ontario. Their sound blends retro textures with brooding atmospheres, with a focus on evocative lyrics and thoughtful soundscapes.
Influenced by Depeche Mode, Alison Moyet, and The Terminator theme (naturally), their new single "Skin and Bones" is moody and hypnotic, ethereal, and a bit libidinous. The dark, cinematic synth soundscape serves as a background for dreamy lyrics that ponder sex, love, and whether or not a broken person can form a real connection to somebody else.
"Skin and Bones" was written and recorded by The Urnfields and mastered by Noah Mintz at Lacquer Channel Mastering in Toronto, Ontario.
After successfully releasing a number of genre-defying singles that explore their various electronic influences, The Urnfields are currently working on their first full-length album.
